We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God breathed forth by His inspiration to man. It is the true, infallible, final authority for and in all situations through faith, words and deeds. God’s word, The Holy Bible, reveals and instructs us, as Christians, how we should live and what we should believe in.
2 Timothy 3:16.
There is only one, true God. He is the creator of all things. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is everlasting, existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Timothy 2:5.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He became a man, was born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all people. He rose from the dead after three days, having His victory over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father in authority over us. He will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords over all the earth.
John 1:1-5, 14; 5:18; Luke 2:1-20.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witness … to the ends of the earth”. People are born again through the Holy Spirit. He helps the believers to have the spiritual, loving, giving life of Christ. The Holy Spirit provides the believer with power for life, witnessing, praying, praising, and understanding of spiritual truth, guidance and spiritual gifts. The gifts from the Holy Spirit are given so that the believer can serve the church and the world around them in ways that surpass their own natural abilities and limitations. The believer can live a victorious life with the help of the Holy Spirit living in them.
Acts 1:8, John 16:7-13, 1 Corinthians 2:10-14; 12:3-11.
People are unable to save themselves from their sinful lives. Salvation is a gift of God. We must believe that God sent His son, Jesus Christ to live on this Earth amongst people and that He died for our sins. We receive salvation through faith and by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We must repent from our sinful ways and follow God’s word.
People were created by God to exist with Him for all eternity. However, without salvation, people will be eternally separated from God. Hell is the result of eternal separation from God. Heaven is the reward for obedience to salvation and forgiveness and we will forever fellowship with God. Heaven and Hell are real places.
Romans 14:12, Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 20:11-15.
When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain; and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in sprit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
“Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.”
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
“Blessed are those who are prosecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.”
“Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.”
As Jesus reached out to the sick, the diseased, the weary, the afflicted, so Chula Vista Community Church reaches out to those who are invisible to society with love and compassion.
